Bacterial Vaginosis in a form of vaginitus that involves the
inflammation of the vagina along with discharge, itching and burning
plus sometimes odor. Bacterial Vaginosis is similar to a yeast
infections in symptoms but with slightly different causes.
Whereas a yeast infection is caused by overgrowth of the naturally
occurring Candida Albicans in the vagina, Bacterial Vaginosis
is caused by an overgrowth of natural bacteria. Natural cures
for these two forms of vaginitus can be similar.
For instance some of the Bacterial Vaginosis natural cures may
involve avoid certain clothing, limiting antibiotics, or changing
the PH level in the vagina. The first of the Bacterial Vaginosis
natural cures is changing clothing that may be irritating the
condition such as synthetic panties, tights or pantyhose.
Tight clothing can trap and spread the bacteria and so looser
fit cotton clothing works well for some women. The second of the
Bacterial Vaginosis natural cures is limiting antibiotics (if
given the Okay by your doctor) since some medications actually
encourage the bodies own natural bacteria to flourish.
Antibiotics can actually kill the good bacteria, leaving room
for Bacterial Vaginosis to grow unchecked. Some will advocate
getting a flu shot at the beginning of the season or if catching
the flu, letting it run its course rather than taking antibiotics.
Of course, discomfort of the flu (and health impact) has to be
weighed against the discomfort of the Bacterial Vaginosis.
The third of the Bacterial Vaginosis natural cures involves changing
the PH level in the vagina so that the growth of the bacteria
may stunted. Some women prefer topical applications of vinegar
or tea tree oil. Diluting both in the right mixtures is the key
to both safety and effectiveness.
Another way to change the PH level is to ingest pro-biotic foods
such as yogurt. Reducing the amount of sugar one consumes is another
idea since bacteria generally thrives on this.
Perhaps trying all of the Bacterial Vaginosis natural cures listed
will achieve faster results. And, as always, it is recommended
that a health care provider, such as a doctor, be involved in
any treatments or cures for any disease such as this.
